Pupa

Created shortly after the election of Donald Trump and a period of personal loss. The black pupa references the darkness required before true transformation. The trauma and brutality of metamorphosis. Inside the pupa, the caterpillar essentially digests itself. It melts down to cellular soup and emerges radically changed. We can witness this phenomena of collapse before reinvention in ourselves personally, but also in the current political climate.
